ABOUT
Dr. Eiman Elgewely is an Assistant professor of Interior Design in the School of Architecture + Design(A+D) at Virginia Tech. Both her Master's and Ph.D. from Alexandria University are in Virtual and Cyberspace design. In addition, Dr. Elgewely joined the Experiential Technologies Center, School of Art and Architecture, University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) in 2013 as a Fulbright Postdoctoral fellow.
Her research interests are in the field of Digital Cultural Heritage and museum studies. She has worked on several applied projects in Digital Cultural Heritage in Egypt since 2007, including 3D scanning, documentation, and virtual reconstruction of historical sites in collaboration with the Informatics Research Institute (IRI), City of Scientific Research, Alexandria, Egypt. Some of these projects are the 3D scanning and virtual reconstruction of the Pyramid Plateau and the virtual reconstruction of some selected areas in Luxor city.
